Alstom’s North American Users Group conference is scheduled for June 3rd through 7th in Bellevue, WA. The theme for this year’s annual event is “Innovating the energy sector…Technologies of Tomorrow.”  I will first demonstrate how cyber security threats against SCADA systems have changed dramatically in the past year, summarize various vulnerabilities, exploits, and threats, and describe how they worked.

The objective for this educatational and entertaining presentation will be to drive a shift change in the mindset of those attending about the increased need for cyber security. This presentation will then shift gears and focus on how recent events can be used to show the need for enhanced security controls – both technical and procedural in the future. What we are doing now is not working, and we need to step up our game.
